PREREQUISITES
No specific courses are required, but students must have:
3 year undergrad (15 full courses or 30 half courses)
10 full courses (2 of the 3 undergrad years) must be above year 1 level courses
Obtained exposure to basic science, social science, and humanities
Assessment forms, autobiographical submission (including 15 questions, verifiers), complete an interview, MCAT, Basic Cardia Life Support (BCLS)
Students must also complete a 90 minute computer-based test called CASPer *successful completion is needed to be eligible for admission
GRADE REQUIREMENTS
Overall average of 3.0 of 4.0 needed for the Ontario Medical School Application Service (OMSAS)
Marks on supplementary courses will be included in one's GPA
Minimum GPA of 3.0
Average entering class GPA of 3.82 in 2013
INTERVIEW PROCESS
McMaster School of Medicine uses the MMI process for interviewing.
It consists of ten stations, each with two minutes of reading time outside the room and then eight minutes to complete the scenario.
Interviewers are given a list of questions which they can cover with the candidate.
The interview at McMaster University focuses purely on non-academic aptitudes.
No clinical prior knowledge is expected or tested.
Non-academic abilities which are tested include:
Problem-solving ability
Self-appraisal ability
Relating to others
Motivation to study medicine
Learning styles

Applicants should ensure that they meet the minimum academic requirements.
All applicants should also review the “Essential Skills and Abilities Required for Entry to a Medical Degree Program” document found under “Who Should Apply”.
Applicants should schedule their MCAT in order for it to be complete done prior to, and within five years of the year of application.
A copy of the undergraduate transcript(s) which will be needed for the application.
Application to the medical school is completed on-line at the Ontario Medical School Application Service (OMSAS) Website.
