VOLUNTEERING & INTERNSHIPS

Volunteering is critical in helping you become a well-rounded individual! Through experience and exposure to various organizations, students are able to strengthen their skills in becoming a medical professional. In such professions, one must be highly skilled interpersonally and gain a full understanding of how to cooperate among various individuals as well as being open to learn and enhance our abilities in becoming more accepting of those who are different from us.

YOUTH STEM MATTERS

Provides an opportunity for students to discover ideas and topics in the real world and share their insights in Science, Technology, Math and STEM with the real world!

MARKHAM STOUFFVILLE HOSPITAL VOLUNTEERING

Provides the opportunity for students to experience what it is like to work in a hospital setting, both in clinical and non-clinical areas.

LETTERS OF HAPPINESS

Send a letter to a patient in a hospital or long-term care home! Students are able to receive volunteer hours for letters written!

Students are able to gain hands on experience in a hospital setting.

HEALTH SCIENCE FACILITATOR

The health science facilitator's role involves preparing, planning and presenting information on public health and infectious health diseases.

STEMCELL

Students gain hands-on work experience, mentorship and training. This opportunity aims to inspire the next generation of scientists, engineers, and business leaders!

SICK-KIDS HIGH SCHOOL CO-OP PROGRAM

The Co-Op program provides an opportunity for high school students (aged 16 and older) to gain experience in a child life placement (full day) or administrative placement (half-day).
