UNIVERSITY OF WESTERN ONTARIO:
SCHULICH SCHOOL OF MEDICINE & DENTISTRY
REQUIREMENTS
No specific courses are required although a mixture of biological and medical science and social science and humanities courses are recommended
Applicants must be Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents of Canada
Permanent Residents of Canada must submit a copy (front and back) of their Permanent Residency card to OMSAS
Applicants must have completed or be in the final year of a program leading to a 4 year undergraduate degree
GRADE REQUIREMENTS
A minimum GPA of around 3.7 is required
Applicants must have met the minimum GPA in each of the 2 best undergraduate years with a full course load (5 full courses each semester/30 credit hours)
INTERVIEW PROCESS
Interviews are 45-minutes duration
Conducted by a three-person panel consisting of a physician, a community member, and a senior medical student
Schulich Medicine invites the top 450 ranked candidates for an interview
APPLICATIONÂ PROCESS
Students must meet all the admissions criteria of both the MD and PhD programs
An application will be evaluated by the MD/PhD Committee, using the same criteria of academic achievement and scores as the Medicine Admissions Committee, as well as assessing the research experience of the individual.
Qualified candidates are selected to come in for an interview
